A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-5-4b, relating to providing a pay increase for certain employees of the Division of Highways.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

            That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §5-5-4b, to read as follows:

ARTICLE 5. SALARY INCREASE FOR STATE EMPLOYEES.

§5-5-4b. Salary increase; certain Division of Highways employees.

            Notwithstanding any provision in this chapter to the contrary, beginning July 1, 2015 there shall be a two percent across the board pay increase granted to all eligible employees of the various agencies of the Division of Highways based on their respective annual salaries to be divided equally in each payment period: Provided, That the employee’s annual salary is less than $50,000 a year on the effective date of this Act.

            NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to provide a two percent pay increase for employees of the Division of Highways whose annual salaries are less than $50,000 per year.

            This section is new; therefore, it has been completely underscored.
